Sensors
TedCube is compatible with all reputable sensors in the market. Based on customer feedback we have focussed on the most popular options.
However, we are happy to work with a sensor of your choice.
The standard TedCube pack is supplied with 1 x Plantronics microphone and 1 gesture sensor.
The Myo armband is a gesture recognition device. It enables the surgeon to control technology wirelessly using hand motions. Electromyographic (EMG) sensors that sense electrical activity in the forearm muscles are combined with a gyroscope, accelerometer and magnetometer to recognize gestures. The Myo armband is worn under the surgeons sterile gown on the upper forearm near the elbow. A great combination with voice recognition
Can be cleaned with a sterile wipe. Water resistant Medical grade steel sensor pads
The BlasterX Senz3D is an intelligent webcam. Like a human eye, it senses depth and tracks human motion. It has three lenses to capture the visual data: a RGB camera, an infrared camera, and a laser projector. Capturing those visual data, these lenses work together with Intel® RealSense™ Technology to respond to your facial expressions and body gestures. This is a great option for surgeons who don’t want to wear an armband or microphone and can stand within a range of 0.5 to 3.5ft of the their control screen.

The Leap Motion controller is a small USB peripheral device which is placed facing upward on a physical surface. Using two monochromatic IR cameras and three infrared LEDs the device observes a roughly hemispherical area. The Leap Motion can sense hand movements up to about 1 meter. This is a suitable option for surgeons that don’t want to wear a bracelet or microphone and can easily access the sensor without disrupting their surgery.

The Plantronics Voyager Legend UC is leading-edge technology that uses precision tuned triple-mics with enhanced DSP for superior noise cancellation. It’s PC Wideband delivers heightened speech clarity, providing the best possible audio quality. The system is very well suited for the OR environment, allowing the surgeon to confidently use voice commands without worrying about background noise or conversation.
